  • How do I prepare for my sugaring service?

    To ensure the best experience:

    • Avoid caffeine before your appointment. Caffeine can make you more sensitive.
    • Do your best to schedule your appointment around your period. The hormones associated with the menstrual cycle often make you more sensitive to pain
    • Wear looser, more comfortable clothing to your appointment
    • DON'T apply lotions or oils to your skin! It makes it too hard for the sugar to stick to your skin and I likely won't be able to perform the service
    • Stop using any AHA/BHAs and retinols/retinoids etc for about 1 week before facial sugaring, depending on the strength of the product you are using
  • Who can not have sugaring hair removal?

While sugaring is considered a very safe and gentle form of hair removal, there are a few situations where sugaring can not be done:

    • If you have been using any sort of AHA or BHA, retinol/retinoids you need to wait at least a week before being sugared, depending on the area you want sugared and the strength of the product you have been using
    • People using certain acne medications like Accutane have to be off the medication for at least 6 months before being sugared
    • If you are taking any sort of medication or have any medical condition that will make you bruise too easily or make your skin far too sensitive for the level of exfoliation
    • Wait at least 2-3 weeks after any sort of PMU or Botox injections for facial sugaring in the treated area
  • What is the proper aftercare for sugaring?

    Some simple and easy "Do's & Don'ts":

    • DO exfoliate after 48 hours, every 2-3 days
    • DO moisturize daily, as often as you want
    • DON'T take anything but a shower for 24 hours. This means no baths, hot tubs, pools, lakes, rivers, etc. Nothing with sitting water.
    • DON'T perform moderate to intense exercise for 24 hours. Limit sweat.
    • DON'T have intercourse for 24 hours.

The "Don'ts" are because your body is more prone to irritation and infection for the first 24 hours so we suggest avoiding activities with excess friction, sweat and exposure to bacteria and if you decide to anyway, that's a risk you are taking.

  • Sometimes my hair takes a really long time to grow back, sometimes it doesn't; why?

Basically, there are 3 phases of hair growth and it's common to have 2 cycles of phases going at the same time. It's hard to know which hair strands are in which phase. Hair that is in the 1st phase is still attached to your body and therefore when removed, your body has to spend time generating a brand new one, which takes a while. Hair that is in a later phase, say the 3rd and final one, is not even attached anymore and a new one in the 1st phase has already been generated and is pushing its way out. Therefore you will see regrowth sooner. Having your maintenance done every 3-4 weeks rather than 5-6 weeks increases the chance of removing as many 1st phase hair as possible.

Side note: hormones do also play a role in hair growth, as can supplements.

  • Is it true that sugaring can make my hair grow in more sparsely?

YES! Timeframe varies from person to person, but if you come in consistently it will happen eventually over time, faster if you book services with shorter time frame in between.

  • Can I get sugared while on my period?

Yes, just wear a tampon or Diva cup for your service. Please note that the hormones associated with your period can tend to make you more sensitive to pain though so you might want to schedule around it.

  • Even though it hurts less than waxing I still want to lessen the pain; what can I do?

It varies from person to person, and I have seen a variety of methods tried by clients over the years. If it is safe for you to use OTC ibuprofen, that is what I have gotten the most positive feedback on. I have had a couple clients tell me they use numbing cream; you can explore that option if it is safe for you.

Being completely transparent, I have also had clients claim to "have a drink" or "have a shot" beforehand. I haven't had any of them have a positive experience from that. They are often more sensitive. I have also had clients claim to use THC, with their experiences being positive or negative depending on the strain used.

  • How do I prepare for my body sculpting treatment?

To ensure the best possible results:

    • Stay hydrated!! Drink plenty of water before and after your appointment. This will help to flush out the toxins and enhance your body's ability to eliminate fat.
    • Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Try to avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours before your appointment. These substances can dehydrate the body and interfere with the body's ability to eliminate fat.
    • Wear comfortable clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
    • Remove all piercings and body jewelry.
    • Avoid eating heavy meals: Avoid eating a heavy meal before your appointment as this can make you feel uncomfortable during the procedure.
    • Note: For abdominal services we recommend females not be on their period.

By following these simple steps, you can prepare yourself for a successful and comfortable noninvasive body sculpting session.

  • What do I need to do after my body sculpting treatment?

It is crucial to take proper care of your body to optimize your results.

Here are some tips for post-treatment care:

    • Stay hydrated!! Drink plenty of water to help flush out the fat and toxins from your body.
    • Continue to avoid alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
    • Incorporate light exercise into your routine to help stimulate the lymphatic system and aid in fat elimination within 4 hours of treatment.
    • Follow a healthy and balanced diet to help maintain your results and prevent the accumulation of new fat cells, low in sugar, simple carbs and processed foods.
    • Your clinician may recommend wearing compression garments to help support the treated areas and improve the results process.
    • Attend all of your sessions planned by your clinician to monitor your progress and ensure the best possible results.

By following these post-treatment care tips, you can maximize the benefits of your noninvasive body sculpting treatment and enjoy a more toned and contoured body shape.

  • Who should not have body sculpting?

Body sculpting treatments are not suitable for:

    • Pregnant women
    • People with epilepsy
    • People with pacemakers
    • People with any metal implants in the area of treatment, including copper IUDs
    • Certain medical conditions and medications will require a doctor's note
    • Menstruating women should avoid having their abdomen treated
  • Are there any side effects, long-term or otherwise to body sculpting?

There have been no reported side effects. These treatments are considered safe and effective and are also FDA approved.  Some people might experience a little soreness with the first treatment or minor detox symptoms (hydrate, hydrate!) but nothing long-term. Of course this is also dependent on not having any serious medical conditions that are contraindications.

  • Is body sculpting safe to do over tattoos?

Yes, as long as the tattoos are completely healed.

  • Will I have to do body sculpting treatments regularly?

While it is possible to see results in just 1 session, regular multiple sessions are strongly recommended until your desired physique has been attained. After that, it is up to you and your lifestyle. If you know you can maintain your results completely on your own then okay, and simply come in as you think sessions are needed. If you would like the extra help and peace of mind that comes with a regularly monthly maintenance then we can get you signed up for a monthly maintenance membership.
